THE PLOT:
Lester Bacon has been driven out of business to his refusal to automate his slaughterhouse to meet the demand of the upcoming
21st century. But Les doesn't see it that way, Les sees three greedy men trying to get a hold of his property and the tradition
of slaughtering pigs the old fashion way. Lester is completely out of his mind and his son Buddy thinks he's a pig and has
the weight and mentality to back it up.
Now Lester and Buddy are after the three men they felt stole their business away from them and a group of teenagers who
came across the grisly plot of murder and revenge.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
Not just your typical slasher flicks of the 1980s. No, this has something to say, and that is an anti-meat message. Saying
people who kill animals for a living must be insane to begin with and that's just B.S. like the movie LARVA, SLAUGHTERHOUSE
must have been written by a vegetarian or something. Second, why kill anyone who walks onto the property, that'll make it
hard to sell pork, plus where was the sign warning people that "TRESPASSERS WILL BE PROCESSED INTO SAUSAGE." These
are the questions that leave you scratching your head, wondering if you have a tumor or something for even wanting to watch
it. Lastly, the climax or as I like to put it, THE OTHER SHOE ENDING. The last survivor escapes in the Deputy's car, kills
Lester and just when you think it's safe, Buddy comes leaping out of the back seat and kills her. They don't show him killing
her it freeze frames before that. But she's trapped behind the wheel of a car with that ax machete thing coming towards her
so there is clearly no escape. THE NOOSE!
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I couldn't agree more with this. Any regular visitor to this site knows has much we hate the bad ending and hate the OTHER
SHOE ENDING even more. But I will refresh your memory if you are new or forgot what the OTHER SHOE ENDING means. The other
shoe ending is when it appears someone or someone has escaped death and are safe the other shoe drops and they die. That
is the other shoe ending and I hate it. So I too give this movie THE NOOSE!
ON THE POSTIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ SPOOKY (Got to admit, it is spooky.)
+ EFFECTS (The gore effects are scary.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE(- MISSES):
- ANT-MEAT MESSAGE (Saying it drives people insane to process meats for a living.)
- KILLING EVERYONE (No wonder the business failed with Buddy killing off customers.)
- CHARACTER ISSUES (Get with the times Lester the Loon!)
AND FINALLY...
- OTHER SHOE ENDING (Just when you think it's safe. BAM! Buddy pops out of the back seat and drops the other shoe!)
