THE PLOT:
A intergalactic space ship carrying three zoo specimens crash lands in the woods near a small town. The specimens escape
and start running amuck, killing, terrorizing the usual stuff space monsters do.
They send a repusentive to take out the space monsters to preseve alive on this primitive planet that we like to call
home. Ben Zackary who takes human form joins up with local law enforcement to stop the killings once and for all.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
I've seen three movies made by director Don Dohler, who I feel is a bigot. Three movies and not one minority role, not even
a bit part, not even an expenable extra. I might be wrong, but somehow I don't think so. Also, it's interesting to note
besides a whole town of only white people. That all the space monsters were color. After killing the tranparent Lemoid (which
was green). Zackary lost his human suit and what happens, he was dark so the Sheriff shot him without thinking. Typical
Police, if it's not white, shoot it. Also, why didn't they try to capture the space monsters alive. I think Mr. Dohler is
stuck in the fifties. Hello, they have tranqulizer darts and try to re-capture zoo animals in the 1970s'. I mean where was
thw ASPCSP? That's the alien society to prevent cruelty to space monsters. A good premise ruined by a prejudice director.
I give THE ALIEN FACTOR, in case you haven't guessed already the NOOSE!
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd, there's no excuse for a bad ending or a prejudice moral in a story. I liked the creatures design and I
liked the use of stilts to make the spider creature so tall. This director should be ashamed of himself and I hope he never
works as a Director again. I don't want him near any of our movies, I tell you what. I also give this piece of prejudice
filth THE NOOSE!
ON THE POSTIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ PREMISE (The ship carrying zoo specimens crash landing and the monster escaping works, but why only three?)
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (The monster design works.)
+ STILTS (Any movie that has an monster suit that needs stilts deserves some kudos.)
+ STOP MOTION (The stop motion works, not great. But works)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (+ MISSES):
- ACTING (The acting was just terrible, it seems for the most part Dohler is they're only stedy acting paycheck.)
- SOUND (The sound was awful, sounded like they were recording it on a handheld tape recorder.)
- BIGOT DIRECTOR (A whole town and not one Black, Asian or Hispanic face, for shame.)
- METAPHOR (It looked like a metaphor for killing anything that wasn't white.)
- NO RE-CAPTURE (Hello, Zackary didn't try to re-capture them alive.)
AND FINALLY...
- ENDING (After risking his life to stop the alien monsters and save the town. The alien (who loses his human suit)
gets killed by gun happy cop. Bad ending, sloppy writting and since Zackary true form was black, re-enforces my theory about
killing minorities.)
